Richard Kemp

The word ‘interstice’ kept entering my head while I was working, so I looked it up. The dictionary definition is ‘intervening space’ or ‘chink’. And that is pretty much where my art seems to sit. These pieces are part of a series of fifty or so that I made without any predetermined agenda. They were made quickly just to see what would turn up. Some are abstractions, some are pictorial. Quite a few feature lighthouses.
